Application Audit & Technical Debt Assessment
A fixed-scope assessment of any existing web application.
A structured audit covering every layer of your application, not just the frontend. Delivers a professional report with clear recommendations, effort estimates, and a walkthrough with your team.
Sound familiar?
- You inherited a codebase and don't know what state it's really in
- Development keeps slowing down and nobody can say exactly why
- You're about to invest in a platform and want an objective view first
- You suspect technical debt but need it quantified, not guessed at
- A potential acquisition or partnership needs technical due diligence
- Your team is too close to it to assess it honestly
What's included
- Frontend code quality (React/Next.js patterns, component architecture, state management)
- Backend review (API design, data fetching, query performance, security)
- Architecture assessment (scalability, coupling, technical risk)
- Performance analysis (bundle size, rendering, Core Web Vitals, server response)
- Security review (dependencies, input handling, auth patterns)
- Testing coverage and quality
- Accessibility audit (WCAG compliance)

Common questions
What do I actually get at the end?
A professional written report covering every layer of the application, with clear findings, prioritised recommendations, and effort estimates, plus a walkthrough where I take your team through it and answer questions. You come away knowing exactly what state your application is in and what to do about it.
Is this just the frontend?
No. The audit covers the full stack: frontend code quality, backend and API design, architecture, performance, security, testing, and accessibility. Problems rarely live only where they are easy to look.
Do you fix the issues or just report them?
The audit itself is assessment and reporting, so you get an objective, fixed-scope view. If you want the issues fixed afterwards, that flows naturally into a performance or remediation engagement, but there is no obligation to continue.
Can this be used for due diligence?
Yes. The audit is well suited to technical due diligence before an acquisition, investment, or partnership, giving you an independent read on the technical risk you would be taking on.
How disruptive is it to my team?
Minimal. I mainly need read access to the code and a short conversation or two for context. Your team can keep shipping while the audit runs.
